The average sale price of homes for sale in Yuma fell from the low 200's to the high 190's.

The Foothills community is found on the east side of Yuma, where Interstate 8 comes off the Gila Mountains. Two golf courses are available to Foothills residents. 14 elementary schools and 6 middle schools make up the Yuma Elementary School District. Other public schools that serve the Yuma area include the elementary schools of the Crane School District. The secondary schools of the Yuma Union High School District serve Yuma, Somerton, San Luis, and other nearby communities. In addition to San Luis High School, this district consists of Gila Ridge High School, Cibola High, Kofa High School, Yuma High School, and the Vista School.

The nearly year round growing conditions makes agriculture a major player in the Yuma business world. Agriculture contributes $700 billion each year to the local economy. Major non-agricultural employers in the Yuma metro area include sound and stereo manufacturer Bose, The US Army Proving Grounds, the United States Marine Corps Air Station, and Arizona Western College.
